The club held its annual SWC Excellence Awards submission and judging as well as the Christmas party. There were 41 attendees including 3 guests which was a good crowd out of a total membership of 72.
The number of entries was not as high as in previous years however the rules were changed this year to exclude entries from the plank competition. The newsletter below shows all entries and winning items.
Ray Tregoning was winner in the furniture category as well as the overall winner with his Adirondack chair; I saw this when he displayed it earlier in the year and it was a deserving winner.
I am an accountant who uses woodwork as a way to escape computers. I work in the back half of a tandem garage under the house; effectively a basement that also houses my wife’s car. I have a reasonable set of tools and am getting more into hand tools, mainly due to the lack of noise and dust minimization.
I live in Sydney Australia and am a active member of The Shire Woodworking Club, Cubby House Turners & Woodies Inc and The Traditional Tools Group Inc
