Shire Woodworking Club – January 2018 Newsletter

Shire Woodworking Club – January 2018 Newsletter posted below. Geoff Tong was a deserving winner of the SWC Excellence Award; he makes some great items, mostly turnings. Other category winners were also deserving; one of these years I need to enter something! Numbers of entries have reduced since plank competition entries were excluded. Great turnout for the Christmas lunch, and a great feed. I am in the photo at the back in the left row. … Continue reading

Mostly about the Christmas donations and special Santa’s Post Box.  Total toy donations of 1471 for year is impressive; some of these were my trucks! I didn’t make the show and tell this month as I was unable to attend the November maxi day as I was in New Zealand

Shire Woodworking Club – October 2017 Newsletter

Shire Woodworking Club – October 2017 Newsletter posted below. Unfortunately 2 long time members passed away in the last month, Alan Davis hadn’t been able to make it for a long time but Ray Schofield was only around 2 months ago. Ray was the next youngest member when I joined so I knew him quite well as he was only a few years older than me. His brain tumour operation a couple of years ago … Continue reading

Shire Woodworking Club – September 2017 Newsletter

Shire Woodworking Club – September 2017 Newsletter posted below. Workshop Update – trucks and cufflinks

Workbench status has not changed since last weekend. I don’t normally get much done during the week other than batches of gluing or small tasks.   Workshop looks messy but two projects happening at the same time. The green file holds my loose sandpaper sheets.  I am working on another batch of toy trucks for the Shire Woodworking Club to donate to the Sydney Children’s Hospital, twelve new builds in progress as below: They are … Continue reading
